Privacy policy
Last updated 28 October 2026
In short: we don't use cookies, analytics or tracking. We only handle personal information when you email us, and when team members agree to appear on this site.
Who we are
This website is run by the student team of Bath Biodevices, a vertically integrated project at the University of Bath, based in Bath, UK. For anything about your personal information, email Sascha at shl200@bath.ac.uk or Sofiia at sb3889@bath.ac.uk.
What we collect, and why
When you visit the site
We don't collect anything about you when you browse this site. There are no cookies, no analytics, no advertising and no social media trackers, and our fonts and scripts are served from our own site rather than third parties.
The site is hosted by GitHub Pages. Like most web hosts, GitHub records technical information such as your IP address when you visit, to keep the service secure and working. We don't receive or use these records. GitHub's handling of this information is covered by the GitHub General Privacy Statement. GitHub may process information in the United States; its privacy statement explains the safeguards it uses for international transfers.
When you email us
If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write. We use this only to reply to you and deal with your enquiry. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us. We delete emails when they're no longer needed, normally within 12 months of the conversation ending. Email to our address is handled by the University of Bath's email system.
Team members shown on this site
The team section shows each member's name and subteam. Where a member has agreed, it also shows their photo, course, year of study and links to their LinkedIn and Indeed profiles. Our legal basis is consent. Any team member can ask us to change or remove their details at any time by emailing Sascha at shl200@bath.ac.uk or Sofiia at sb3889@bath.ac.uk, and we remove details when someone leaves the team.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or share your information with anyone for marketing.
- We don't send newsletters or marketing emails.
- We don't make automated decisions or build profiles about you.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- ask us to correct information that's wrong
- ask us to delete your information

- ask for your information in a portable format
To use any of these rights, email Sascha at shl200@bath.ac.uk or Sofiia at sb3889@bath.ac.uk. We'll reply within one month.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or 0303 123 1113.
